Web1

Définition

Web1, also known as the "read-only web," represents the earliest iteration of the internet, spanning from its inception in the late 1960s to the late 1990s. During this period, websites primarily consisted of static web pages that provided information to users but offered limited interactivity. Users were passive consumers of content, and there was minimal user-generated content or dynamic web applications. Web1 was characterized by technologies such as HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and early web browsers like Mosaic and Netscape Navigator. Websites were often basic and focused on providing informational content rather than interactive experiences or social networking features.
