Ideas and beliefs about technology, policy and society can be particularly visible when institutions are extending interaction into new modes of cooperation. Radom Network, as a multi-faceted monetising and accountable blockchain infrastructure, holds that it is not only crucial to consider how blockchain may be deployed for commercial and societal objectives, but also to observe how blockchain shapes the broader societal environment (and vice versa) in ways that are beneficial or transformative.

Being a rapidly expanding company, Radom has grasped that when considering blockchain as a novel technology, (re)distributing blockchain-related knowledge across different actors is key for its adoption. One way to do so is through facilitating increased dialogue and collaboration between policy-makers and industry experts.

A Shared Approach to Blockchain’s Potentialities

Indeed, policy-makers, blockchain leaders and academia may enrich their discussions and get a fresh understanding about common objectives by realising that blockchain may be appreciated as a ground-breaking, emerging technology. Radom Network strongly asserts that communicating in a joint and mutually understandable language is specifically important for such an effort.

An excellent demonstration of such approach is the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Blockchain in the United Kingdom. The APPG on Blockchain is an informal, cross-party effort that shares a common interest in blockchain technologies and is committed to ensuring that society and industry benefit from the full potential of blockchain and other distributed ledger technologies. Exchanging knowledge through regular virtual and physical meetings, the Group is an interesting example of a forum where policy-makers, technologists and industry leaders come together on a structural basis.

Being truly proactive and politically inclusive, it is illustrative that the APPG Group brings together not only industry experts, but also Members of Parliament and Members of the House of Lords who share an interest in blockchain specifically.

Radom's CEO and Founder Christopher Wilson Joins the APPG as an Advisor and Industry Expert

Aiming to spur the APPG’s unique approach to blockchain innovation, Radom Network is pleased to announce that Radom Network’s CEO and Founder, Christopher Wilson, will be taking on a position as an Advisor. He is specifically looking forward to redistributing his technological know-how so that policy-makers can grasp how blockchain fundamentally enables societies, states and businesses to acquire previously untapped value.

Considering the traditional differing time horizons of innovation and regulation, and blockchain’s rapid development per se, Christopher Wilson expressed that ‘[...] for policy-makers and other individuals outside of the engineering environment, it may be difficult to understand how blockchains function in the first place. Another fundamental issue is, of course, how blockchain development truly interacts with law and policy and how it can encourage society to transform for the better, for instance through accountable access to data leasing. Radom Network is committed to helping bridge this knowledge gap’.

A Full Radom Delegation Aiming to Expand the Group’s Efforts

Sharing its deep knowledge of blockchain, digital assets and the latest industry trends, the Radom Network team as a whole is extremely eager to take part in the interdisciplinary discussions on the potential of blockchain for generating and distributing value across society. Therefore, two members of the Radom Network core team, Scott Haval Osman (CSO) and Alexandra Overgaag (Business Development Specialist), will also be joining the Radom Network delegation to further help expand the Group’s efforts.

Aiming to improve blockchain infrastructure in a holistic manner, Radom Network is convinced that combining different views in the Blockchain APPG may generate a more fruitful blockchain development, both today and tomorrow.

About the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Blockchain

The goal of the APPG on Blockchain is ensuring industry and society benefit from the full potential of blockchain and other distributed ledger technologies.

All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are informal, cross-party groups formed by MPs and Members of the House of Lords who share a common interest in a particular policy area, region or country. APPGs have no official status within Parliament.
